CTV News is an amazing platform to spread Canadian news across the globe. I find myself using this site constantly as I believe that it is very important to stay in touch with the politics of your nation, whether you are a minor and can't vote, or you just want to learn about what major decisions are being made in your country.
National Geographic is an environmental news website about how our planet is being affected, and the issues different organisms have to face. Due to the recent climate change epidemic, I find myself reading more and more on this site about the environment, and I find it to be a very informative tool.
She Clothing Co. is a non-profit organization created by 4 grade 11 girls who actually attend/have attended Havergal College, my school. This clothing brand helps to promote feminism and spread their unique message.
"Be the change you wish to see in the world"
The Salvation Army is a Christian, charitable organization that donates food, money, and clothing to people in need. Although I am not Christian, I value these donations and make it a goal for me to donate to these at least once a year. It helps to remind of the gratitude I have of living the way that I do.
Islamic Relief Canada is an organization similar to the salvation army, except they focus primarily on rebuilding countries that have experienced post-crisis trauma. In Yemen, for example, water is a hard source to find, so volunteer work and donations are being asked to provide clean water for people fleeing war in their countries. I find this cause is also just as important to donate to, as I could easily have been born into that world as opposed to living in Canada.
Finally, Instagram is a social media platform that allows you to connect with many different cultures and ethnicities all around the world. It also helps you to stay connected with your peers and see what their life is up to. Check it out!
